Personnel and Recruiting

All team members are carefully screened and trained. This includes extensive training for transportation of blood born pathogens per OSHA guidelines. All couriers wear uniforms and Identification Badges. (Please see example below)

We have two basic types of couriers: route and on call. The route courier will run a set schedule each day. They deliver U. S. Mail, inter-office mail, medical materials (lab specimen, x-rays, surgical instruments, paperwork, pharmaceuticals, hospital supplies, etc.), legal documents, CPA financial reports, office supplies, printed materials, dental material (dentures, dental supplies, paperwork, etc.), construction blueprints, plumbing supplies and more. These materials may be delivered daily, weekly, monthly, or any combination the customer chooses.

The on call courier is used to support the route courier. They will deliver the items that a customer needs that day in one (1) hour, two (2) hours, three (3) hours, or same day by 5:00 PM. This courier can deliver an item in the “stat” mode or “non-stop”. Red Cross blood, medical material and supplies, legal documents, printed material, auto parts, plumbing supplies, dental material, etc. can be delivered to local customers in a matter of minutes.

Our couriers are chosen from applications, resumes, and e-mail responses that arrive at our offices daily. About one in five of the applicants are called for an interview. A conditional offer of hire is then made to about 50% of those we interview. Once given a conditional offer of hire, an applicant agrees to a complete records check which may include the following: criminal history, motor vehicle use history, financial report, educational background, social security number verification, and residential information.

The prospective driver is then called in for an orientation meeting and given a training schedule. Route drivers may be trained for 3 to 5 days. On call drivers usually are trained 2 to 3 days. At the end of the active training period the information gathered on the trainee is evaluated and a determination is made whether to continue or not with the remainder of the 90 conditional period of hire. Bee Line does not use independent contractors.
